Our Story: Born from Broken Chair Bags and Divine Timing (Yes, Seriously)
Like many wild ideas born in 2020, ours began in the midst of a global pandemic, a messy garage, and —wait for it —a bunch of broken camp chair bags. And of course, it was all wrapped up in a lot of extra time on our hands, one of the positive outcomes of the pandemic. But we believe it was more than just a coincidence. In fact, we’re convinced it was part of God’s plan (even if we didn’t see it coming at the time).
The spark? Jonathan’s friend from the Philippines reached out and asked if we could donate masks for local communities. His aunt, a superstar with a sewing machine, could make them. We’d already donated plenty of masks at the time, so we politely declined, but little did we know, that conversation wasn’t over yet.
A few days later, as Jonathan was cleaning out the garage—thanks to pandemic boredom—he realized every single camp chair bag we owned had fallen apart. Cue the frustration. So, he did what any normal person would do: He turned to Amazon. And what did he find? Terrible replacements that only made things worse. Instead of just whining about it, Jonathan felt a nudge from God. He messaged his friend back in FB messenger: “How about we skip the masks and your aunt sews us some camp chair bags instead?”
And just like that, our first order of 300 bags was in motion. We thought, “What could go wrong? Let’s see what happens!” To our surprise, they sold out in a week at Amazon. People weren’t just using them for camp chairs, though—they were getting creative, using them for tripods, easels, hammocks, and who knows what else. It turns out we’d stumbled onto something big. God had opened a door, and we were smart enough (or maybe just lucky enough!) to walk through it.
Now, that’s Jonathan’s side of things—but there’s a lot more to this story.
Enter Fatima: The Real Plot Twist
Now, Fatima? She was on a completely different path. She was in the middle of a Master’s degree in Modern Human Anatomy. But here’s where things took a turn. After finishing grad school, she imagined, things got a bit… foggy. She was standing at a crossroads, standing still, wondering, “God, what's next?”
What followed was a season of confusion, frustration, and many late-night “what direction is my life really taking?” moments. It felt as if her dreams were slipping through her fingers, with uncertainty being the only thing she could count on. But God has a way of weaving plot twists into our stories. In stepping up to support others and navigating challenges in healthcare, Fatima uncovered a deeper calling. Leadership? Turns out, she had both the heart and the skill for it. She began shaping visions, guiding missions, and strengthening teams. Fast forward, and she’s now pursuing a PhD in Healthcare Leadership—transforming those struggles into purpose and impact.
Our Purpose (AKA: How Broken Chair Bags Led to Big Purpose)
So, what are we all about? Well, we believe in turning frustration into innovation. And we believe God’s hand has been guiding us through this wild journey from the beginning. What started with a few broken chair bags and an unexpected sewing connection has turned into a business we never saw coming. But more than that, it’s about creating purposeful products that solve real problems—and bring a little joy along the way.
We don’t just sell bags. We offer something that adds value to your life. Whether you’re carrying a camp chair, a camera tripod, or even just a reminder that life’s detours can lead to great destinations, we want our products to serve you well.
Our journey has been full of surprises, detours, and moments where we had to trust that God was leading us, even when we couldn’t see where we were going. And if you’re reading this, we’re so grateful you’re part of our story. We hope that, in some way, we can be part of yours too—whether it’s through a sturdy camp chair bag or just a little bit of inspiration.
Thank you for coming along for the ride!
